Midi-Pyrenees. Properties in the Midi Pyrenees are still very good value and there is a bit of everything. It’s also the biggest region in France. Transport links: There are airports in Toulouse (mainstream airlines) and Rodez. Although not in the region, Montpellier, Pau, Perpignan and Carcassone are all easily accessible to some departments. B The Paris-Toulouse Motorway is now complete, and a great distance of it is not toll- paying ‘peage’. The motorway now continues most of the way to Andorra in the Pyrenees. Landscape: Given its size (as big as Switzerland) there is great diversity in landscape and weather. The south of the region is dominated by the Pyrenees with some fantastic views, and popular with French holidaymakers in July and August. The region does not extend to the coast. There are some high plateaus in Aveyron. Much of the region is farmland.
